The Kestrel handheld weather meters offer a range of 11 units which report on every environmental parameter a shooter could wish for.
They are easy to operate and allow you to factor in all relevant atmospheric conditions that impact the accuracy of your shot.
Get instant readings of crosswind, barometric pressure, temperature, altitude and relative humidity in a choice of graphical or digital displays.
The Kestrel 4500 with its integral digital compass calculates wind direction with reference to user-set target headings.
For those in extreme outdoor conditions the accurate wind chill and heat stress index measurements can ensure safety from long-term exposure.
With a Kestrel 4000 or 4500 Pocket Weather Tracker you can measure and store the environmental conditions for each shot you take, and then input the data into a ballistics program for detailed trajectory calculations or upload the data to a computer for later reference. New for 2010 these models now have Bluetooth communication.
For night time use, when you wish to preserve your night-vision or secure position, the Kestrel 2500, 3500, 4000 and 4500 are available as NV models with a reduced brightness red backlight instead of the standard green backlight. The NV units are available in olive drab or desert tan.
All units are compact, waterproof and weigh as little as 65g. The Kestrel's robust design has survived years of use by the military world-wide; their quality is backed up by a 5-year warranty.
If you are serious about your shooting - be it on the range or in the field- a weather meter is an important part of your kit, so pick up the best.
New for 2011 - the
Kestrel 4500NV with Horus ATrag Ballistics combines all the features of
the Kestrel 4500 with a Horus ballistics
calculator in one unit - providing the most comprehensive instrument a
shooter could wish for.

Pete Moore from Shooting Sports Magazine reviews the Kestrel 2500NV weather meter
"I approach my hunting by ensuring I have all the data and the right items I need to make the shot count every time... a chance to try out a wind meter was a bit of a revelation and now I know what I have been missing.
For me the real revelation was to know the actual wind speed, followed by the ability to get hi, low and average readings quickly and apply them to a firing solution. The biggest surprise was how far out my eyeball methods of judging the speed were."
