The Kestrel Vane Mount is a free-spinning wind vane, with a cradle to hold a Kestrel, that will attach to any tripod and hold the Kestrel facing into the wind at all times.
The vane mount is designed to be extremely lightweight and portable, and easily assembled in seconds from its compact components. Its precision pivot and lightweight vane extension allow the unit to spin freely in even the slightest of breezes. The incorporated level ensures that the vane mount is installed correctly and that a Kestrel 4500's direction readings will be accurate.
The Kestrel vane mount is ideal for use with the Kestrel Portable Mini Tripod (sold separately), but will also fit any other standard tripod.
A Kestrel 4000 series model with vane mount and tripod provides a complete weather station, readily transported to remote locations.
