View live wind data from our wind systems at Lymington, Hurst Castle, Highcliffe and Portland Harbour (The 2012 Olympic sailing venue)
The latest news from Richard Paul Russell Ltd
Highcliffe Sailing Club have just installed a new R-P-R Wind System. The system streams live wind data to the internet every 10 minutes. The data can be viewed at our website www.weather-file.com/highcliffe.
This system will provide valuable information on wind conditions for sailors, windsurfers, kite-surfers and other boaters in the Christchurch Bay area. The club is situated at the entrance to Christchurch harbour in Dorset.
The wind system uses a WindSonic sensor - a reliable, no maintenance ultrasonic anemometer, with no moving parts, to measure wind speed and direction. A WS-15A display provides instantaneous read-out in the club house, while the internet link displays live and historic min, max and average data every 10 minutes.
This live wind data increases the coverage across the Western Solent and Dorset coastline. R-P-R has other systems installed at Lymington, Hurst Castle and Portland Harbour where the 2012 Olympic Sailing Regatta will be held. Data from all these can be viewed at our website www.weather-file.com.

Ideal for use by farmers and others involved in crop spraying. This new Kestrel hand-held weather meter provides a useful measure of Delta T.
Delta T is the spread between the wet bulb temperature and the dry bulb temperature (in degrees C). By calculating this value, the Kestrel 3500 delta T Pocket Weather Meter provides a quick guide to determining acceptable spraying conditions. In hot, dry conditions, evaporation can send expensive chemicals uselessly into the air rather than onto the crops.
By also measuring other critical conditions, such as relative humidity and wind speed, the kestrel 3500 delta T helps ensure safe and effective spraying.
